If you are planning a trip to France, there is a good chance you will choose Paris. Paris is, of course, beautiful, with countless sights, a rich history, and charming streets. However, Strasbourg is a hidden gem in France.

Strasbourg is located in Alsace and is a must-see for everyone. It is about four hours away from Paris. I spent a night there this summer and fell in love with the city instantly. The only downside is the huge number of tourists from all over the world who apparently had the same idea I did.

On Booking.com, there is a two-hour tour you can do on your own using your mobile phone for just €5. Along the way, you can learn about the city via an audio guide, see all the key spots in the Old Town, and pause whenever you like to sit down for a cocktail or a coffee.

I had dinner at Café Rohan, which offered typical French cuisine, very friendly staff, countless cocktails, and a breathtaking atmosphere.

The best part of Strasbourg is just to walk around and duck in and out of various gift shops, art shops, cafes, souvenir shops, etc. There is also a museum and a castle. All in all, one must visit Strasbourg while in France or you will be sadly missing out! I will definitely be back here to stay for a few days in the future.
