I used to ask myself this question quite often. At first, I was completely overwhelmed and didn’t know where to begin.

Even if I don’t succeed, it still serves as a travel journal for me to capture all my memories. It’s also a great option for friends, family, and Instagram followers, because they always know where I am and what I’ve experienced. And there’s always a bit of self-discovery involved.

I’ve always wondered if it’s too late or if I (29) am too old. But the first step is always: just start.

The reason

The main reason for me was to document my travels and share my experiences with others. And yes…another reason, of course, is to make travel my full-time job. But I’ll write about that another time.

The name

It has to be original, unique, and a good fit for you. I registered my name as a business right away so no one can steal it.

The platform

Now comes the most important thing…you have decided to create a blog, you know the topic and you have a name.

Now you need a platform. I chose WordPress. This allows you to run your own desired address without having to integrate the blog into your website. Of course, it costs money, but it’s worth it in the end.

The Layout

Now comes the hardest part: the layout. I just experimented and asked ChatGPT to explain everything to me.

The first Post

And that’s it! Your blog is finished and ready for your first post. Enjoy it and don’t worry too much about it. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just authentic.
