The complete Venice Bucket List

With its enchanting canals, Venice is like no other city. It rightfully holds the status of a romantic city in Italy. I’ll show you what you need for your trip, what to see, and where to eat.

St.Marks Basilica

A very impressive building with a huge line of tourists. If you want to go inside, you should book your ticket online as soon as possible, otherwise you won’t be able to get in. These tickets are valid for a specific time. This is presumably intended to minimize the long tourist lines. And please note: no short dresses or trousers, and no low-cut necklines.

Water Taxi

If you don’t feel like exploring Venice on foot, you can also rent a gondola. However, the price is also around €100.

Museum

Anyone interested in history, sculpture, painting, and the Baroque/Renaissance period should definitely visit the museum. There’s something interesting for everyone to see on its two floors.

Best Restaurants

The best restaurants are in the alleys, far from the tourist crowds.
The staff was very friendly, and somehow everything reminded me of a Disney movie.
Never make the mistake of eating at St. Mark’s Square. You’ll pay €10 for water there, and if a band happens to be playing, you’ll have to pay for that as well.

Rialto Bridge

One of the most beautiful bridges in Venice. With a fantastic view of the city and the canal.

Palazzo Ducale

This palace is a must-see. It contains impressive rooms from the government of the time. So impressive that it takes your breath away.

How long should you stay?

Basically, one day is enough if you arrive in Venice at 10 a.m. and leave around 5 p.m. However, if you want to take your time and see even more, you should spend at least one night in Venice.
